William Moore’s take on the Belgium game

Goal.com’s match report

Some great Americanisms from the IHT

Congratulations to Jon on Jippo’s escape from relegation worries. It’s looking like TPV are peering over the abyss after their dismal performance at home to VIFK on Saturday. GBK take on the worst team in the league, Klubi 04, while TPV will play PK 35. I’m hoping TPV stay up, obviously, as losing two Ykkönen clubs in a season would be a big blow for Tampere.

At the top it’s all up for grabs. I’ll try and find out what the exact situation is regarding promotion, but I’d be surprised if they’ve decided anything yet. Here’s the table:

RoPS 25 16 7 2 42 – 20 55
KuPS 25 15 8 2 40 – 16 53
JJK 25 11 8 6 44 – 26 41
FC Hämeenlinna 25 10 8 7 34 – 25 38
TP-47 25 10 6 9 34 – 27 36
VIFK 25 9 8 8 29 – 33 35
PK-35 25 8 9 8 36 – 32 33
Atlantis 25 9 6 10 31 – 30 33
JIPPO 25 8 7 10 30 – 35 31
KPV 25 8 7 10 26 – 44 31
GBK 25 7 6 12 28 – 37 27
TPV 25 7 6 12 23 – 37 27
PP-70 25 5 7 13 29 – 43 22
Klubi-04 25 1 9 15 24 – 45 12

And Saturday’s final round of Ykkönen games:

20.10.2007 klo 15:00 Klubi-04 – GBK
20.10.2007 klo 15:00 TPV – PK-35
20.10.2007 klo 15:00 TP-47 – Atlantis
20.10.2007 klo 15:00 FC Hämeenlinna – RoPS
20.10.2007 klo 15:00 JIPPO – VIFK
20.10.2007 klo 15:00 KuPS – JJK
20.10.2007 klo 15:00 KPV – PP-70

  1. Thanks and sorry again for not updating for this week. It was a massive victory for Jippo and I this past weekend. We were 5 points behind in relegation when I arrived, and since have gone 5-1-1..coincidence?? I think not lol jk although I think my 3 goals came in handy…As for promotion, RoPS will find a way to go up I have no doubt. If they don’t get permission to play in their current stadium then I am sure they will play in Kemi or Tornio for a season until the stadium in Rovaniemi can be upgraded. But its not over yet. RoPS has a difficult away trip to Hameenlinna who has come on strong at the end, but KuPS won’t have it any easier at home to JJK. We’ll see…oh and RoPS can thank their goalkeeper for keeping them on top as he somehow managed to score a goal in their last match against Atlantis!!

  2. Yep, glad your personal season has had a happy ending. Playing in Kemi or Tornio is going to be hellishly expensive, isn’t it?
